Wokelo does not publish a price list, but its co-founder and CEO has said on the record that pricing starts at $30,000 a year for five seats plus proportionate usage. That works out to about $6,000 per seat a year at the entry level. Larger firms get bespoke contracts priced higher, and small consulting boutiques get custom terms. There is no self-serve plan and no card checkout. This guide separates what Wokelo has said from what aggregators repeat, shows how that entry price compares with Hebbia, Rogo, Grata and AlphaSense, and lists what to get in writing before you sign.
How much does Wokelo cost?
The only price that comes from Wokelo itself is the entry point Sid Masson, the co-founder and CEO, gave on the Umbrex Unleashed podcast: $30,000 per year for five seats, plus usage in proportion to how much the team runs. Everything else in circulation is either a contact-sales placeholder or an aggregator figure nobody can trace. Here is what you can actually put in a budget.

A few aggregator pages show a "Standard" plan at $50 a month and a 30-day trial. We could not trace either figure to Wokelo, the company has never had a pricing page in any archived capture we checked, and its buying paths are a request-access form and a contact page. Treat those numbers as noise.
Does Wokelo publish pricing?
No. The Wayback Machine index for wokelo.ai holds about 2,500 archived addresses and not one of them is a pricing, plans or billing page. Wokelo sells to private equity firms, corporate development teams, investment banks and consulting firms, and every contract is negotiated. Named users include KPMG, which also holds a minority stake through KPMG Ventures, Guggenheim Partners, Berkshire Partners, Siemens, Adobe and B Capital. That list tells you who the price is set against: firms that measure diligence in analyst weeks and charge clients accordingly.
How much does Wokelo cost per seat?
About $6,000 a year at the entry tier, if you take the founder's five-seat figure and divide it evenly. Two caveats matter. First, the $30,000 excludes usage, so a team that runs dozens of full diligence reports a month will pay more than the seat math suggests. Second, the five-seat floor means a solo buyer does not get a $6,000 seat. The practical minimum is the $30,000 package, which is $30,000 for one person if you are the only one using it.
Wokelo is a small company. Its July 2025 Form D filing with the SEC shows $5,075,511 raised from 20 investors, and in 2024 it told GeekWire it had 13 employees and more than 35 customers. The founder later cited more than 40 paying customers. A company at that stage has room to negotiate on the first contract, and less room to absorb a large custom build, so ask for pilot terms rather than a steep discount on a three-year commitment.
Wokelo vs Hebbia, Rogo, Grata and AlphaSense pricing
None of these vendors publishes a rate card, so every row below carries its source. The figures are not like for like: some are per seat, one is a flat firm rate and one is a median contract.
| Tool | Reported price | Unit | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wokelo | $30,000 a year | Five seats, plus usage | Founder statement |
| Hebbia | About $10,000 a year | Professional seat | Sacra estimate, unverified |
| Rogo | About $3,300 a year | Seat | Sacra estimate, unverified |
| Grata | $15,000 a year | Flat firm rate | Capterra listing |
| AlphaSense | $18,375 a year | Median contract | Vendr, 40 purchases |
On a per-seat basis Wokelo sits between Rogo and Hebbia. On a minimum-spend basis it is the most expensive entry ticket in the table, because of the five-seat floor. That shapes who it suits. A deal team of five or more who will all use it lands at a reasonable per-seat cost. A two-person search fund pays for three seats it never fills. Our Hebbia pricing page and Rogo AI pricing guide show where those two estimates come from and how far they hold up.
What data is included in a Wokelo subscription?
Wokelo says it runs on a proprietary database of more than 20 million companies and draws on more than 30 premium subscriptions, naming PitchBook, S&P Capital IQ and Crunchbase, alongside news, filings, call transcripts, journals and product reviews. It also connects to a customer's internal data.
What Wokelo has not said publicly is whether you need your own PitchBook or Capital IQ license to see that data in its output. This is the question that moves the total cost most. With Hebbia, PitchBook's own documentation says its connector needs a seat-based PitchBook license, and a PitchBook seat runs several thousand dollars a year on its own (our PitchBook cost guide has the audited per-user figure). If Wokelo's contract includes that data without a separate license, it is cheaper than it looks. If it does not, add those contracts to the budget. Get the answer in writing.
Is Wokelo worth it?
It can be, for a team whose bottleneck is the first week of a deal. Wokelo's core output is a research report on a company or a sector: market map, competitors, recent deals, news, and a first-draft diligence view, produced in minutes instead of days. If an associate costs a fund roughly $250,000 a year fully loaded and spends a third of their time on that first pass, the arithmetic for a $30,000 contract works quickly. Deployment options include SOC 2 Type II cloud, private cloud and on-premises, which matters to firms whose compliance team would otherwise block the purchase.
It is harder to justify in three cases. If fewer than five people will use it, the floor raises your real per-seat cost. If the targets are mostly public companies, a lot of what Wokelo assembles is already in filings. And if the real bottleneck is extracting tables from scanned CIMs and vendor PDFs, a dedicated document data extraction tool is a narrower and cheaper purchase than a research platform.
What is a cheaper alternative to Wokelo for public company research?
For listed companies, Investables.ai is the smaller purchase. Enter a ticker and you get a structured research card: what the business does, the metrics that matter with peer context, the bull case, the bear case and the labeled risks. It costs $49 to $249 a month with no seat minimum and no annual term, so one analyst pays for one seat. It does not map private markets or build a sector landscape of private targets, which is Wokelo's main job. Plenty of deal teams use both: a platform like Wokelo for private targets, and a per-ticker card for the public comparables and acquirers in the same deal.
If expert calls are part of your diligence budget too, those are priced separately and usually cost more than any AI tool. Our Tegus pricing page covers what transcripts and calls cost now that Tegus sits inside AlphaSense, and the best expert networks for private equity guide compares the networks on audited figures.
How do you negotiate a Wokelo contract?
Four requests cover most of the value:
- Seat floor. Ask whether a three-seat package exists for smaller teams. The founder said boutique consulting firms get custom pricing, so the five-seat floor is a starting position.
- Usage definition. Get the usage unit in writing, what counts as one report or one credit, how many are included, and what the overage rate is.
- Data entitlements. Confirm which premium datasets appear in output without your own license, and which require one.
- Pilot and exit. Ask for a paid pilot of 60 to 90 days on live deals with a written success metric, and an exit right if it misses.
The short version
Wokelo pricing starts at $30,000 a year for five seats plus usage, which is about $6,000 per seat, according to its own founder. There is no public price list, no self-serve plan and no confirmed free trial, and larger firms pay more under bespoke contracts. The number to pin down before signing is whether premium data like PitchBook and Capital IQ is included or needs your own license.
